National Cancer Survivors Month
Every year, cancer survivors around the world are celebrated in the month of June, and this year, the Foundation for Cancer Care hosted members of the Dewdrops Support Group of Lakeshore Cancer Center, to an afternoon of learning relaxation and fun.
The event which held on the 25th of June 2022 at Lakeshore Cancer Center, Victoria Island had in attendance, cancer survivors from the Dewdrops Support Group and their caregivers in attendance.
The keynote address for the event, which was delivered by Dr Oge Ilegbune, Board Advisor for the Foundation for Cancer Care stressed the importance of providing support for cancer survivors through avenues such as the national survivors month, as this presents an opportunity for survivors to be heard and to tell their own stories about surviving cancer.
Virtual Sharing Experience Event
The Foundation for Cancer Care coordinated the 3rd quarter support group meeting for Lakeshore Cancer Center’s Dewdrops Support group.
The program was themed “Just Us Survivor”; and it was an opportunity for the survivors to share their cancer journey. They also had a good time playing games with some of them winning a copy of “Roof Top” a book by one of the survivors.
End of the Year Support Group Get Together
To round up the year, Foundation for Cancer care hosted the Dewdrops Support
Group for a relaxing, fun, and experience-sharing get-together at Lakeshore Cancer Center Ikeja. Survivors got the chance to encourage patients and have fun together.
